Lucky me! Best Friday the 13th ever, because I got to virtually "meet" some wonderful students, teachers and Friends of the Montague, Michigan library! They invited me to speak with them after fifth graders there read "to the Copper Country--Mihaela's Journey" for their March Reading Month selection. The school cafeteria even got involved by preparing pasties, one of the foods mentioned in the book, and a student's grandmother baked povitica, another recipe, so that students could enjoy a truly immersive experience. What a treat for me to hear their thoughts and answer their questions!!
